From science museum to everyday life

- Health promotion outreach and transformative experiences

Industrial PhD project at Steno Health Promotion Center, Steno Diabetes Center A/S by Julie Bønnelycke

Julie investigates the health promotion outreach activities in the PULSE-project as they attempt to bridge between an informal learning environment with traditional science learning outcomes and the complexities of everyday practices of health and family life in local communities to establish lasting changes in conceptions of health and increase physical activity.

The PhD project focuses upon the position and resources of cultural institutions in relation to educational, social and political issues, and the project also relates to topics such as health education and literacy, health inequality and participation, and the contingencies of health practices and other everyday practices and collectives.
